This newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung around to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positiioning setups is more convenient than ever.
The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.
When I first recieved this bag, my first thoughts were “wow, its big!”
But it fits everything I need!! Including my Beercan and Big beercan!
I measured before I bought it to make sure it would.
Build
I think I will have this bag for a very long time. It carries 7 lenses(without a flash). My 28-85 and my 50mm in the same slot(which saves room, also 2 50mm manuals in the same slot.)
it is built very well. Right when i received it I put water proofer on it. It does come with a cover that is water proof(it is proven to be water proof by me!!=) ) It has 5 slots for lenses,1 for you camera(or 4 for lenses and a flash). 2 zip up side pockets(one perfect of fitting the battery charger in.)(these pockets have metal zipper pulls that make noise when walking…I unzipped them a little when sneaking around so they dont make noise) a pockets on the side pockets of those pockets. I havent used them yet. One zip up pocket on the very front(I put my neck strap in there).
Another zip up pocket on the inside (the same size). On the front of that pocket there 3 mesh pockets that do good to hold my batteries and also the pc sync cord/card reader.
The very top large compartment (three slots)is where you put your most used lenses and you camera(this is where I keep my minolta 50mm, 28-85 and my beercan! Everyting you need i think!) This zips up and there is also a ummmm snap clip thingy? LOL.
The bottom large compartment also has 3 compartments. Good place for bigger lenses or a big flash!
The bag also has multiple metel loops on it for hanging things off of. I hang my nikon lens cleaning cloth on one(for my glasses).
Everything I need is VERY secure! I am VERY happy with this bag!! It does what it should!!
This review was used using the Sony a300 with the Legendary MINOLTA 70-210 f4 also known as “The Beercan.” The Beercan we used in the review was purchased from UsedCameras.com for $175. The Beercan can also be found on Ebay and Craigslist for about $150- $200. We at a300.org recommend the Minolta “Beercan”, it’s built like a tank and it’s Razor Sharp!

The Minolta AF 70-210mm f/4 lens is an autofocusing telephoto photographic lens compatible with cameras using the Minolta AF lens mount. The lens is colloquially known as the “beercan” by Minolta camera users because the lens shape and size closely match the proportions of a typical aluminum beer can. Further, the lens provides a 1:4 magnification (at minimum focus, an object records at 1/4 its size on film or sensor) which is near macro range.
It was introduced in 1985 at the launch of the Minolta Maxxum/Dynax/Alpha 7000 camera (the first widely successful autofocus SLR) and remained in production for many years. Two years earlier, the lens was introduced as a one-touch zoom in the manual-focus Minolta SR mount (as a “plain” MD lens). However, production slowed and then eventually stopped for both the AF and MD versions; its successors, the 70-210/3.5-4.5 and 70-210/4.5-5.6 had none of the qualities of the original and build and image quality decreased.
It remains popular, however, for use on digital single lens reflex cameras using the AF system, such as the Minolta Maxxum 7D or the Sony α Although relatively bulky and weighty, the lens is valued for its solid build, sharpness and smooth bokeh effect.
For definitive long-shot precision and spectacular portraits even in low light, this professional G-Series lens raises the standard of DLSR performance. Its 35mm-equivalent 450mm focal length and ultra-bright f2.8 aperture combine for superb results in virtually any light–and its high-speed SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) autofocus is fast, accurate, and quiet.
FEATURES:
SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) - A built-in lens motor for faster automatic focusing with high torque at low speed, quick start/stop response, and quiet, smooth operation.
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) Glass - Three precision ED glass lenses correct chromatic aberrations to provide extremely sharp telephoto images distant subjects as well as dramatic sports close-ups.
Internal Focusing System - Internal lens elements move, so the overall length does not change–creating an autofocus zoom lens that doesn’t affect the balance of your camera.
2 DMF (Direct Manual Focus) Modes - Allow you to quickly revert to Manual Focus by just turning the Manual Focus ring of the lens.
Versatile Focus Hold - Four focus hold buttons in different lens locations, plus electronic slider focus range selector switch.
Lightweight Design - A strong, light magnesium lens barrel makes shooting more comfortable even on long wildlife or sports assignments.
