Late night photography with the Sony a300 DSLR. Photos were taken at Edgewater Lakefront State Park Cleveland, Ohio. I had 20% battery life left in my Sony a300. At the last minute, I decided to take a few photos. I had no time to charge my batteries and decided to catch the last bit of sunset. Here are the results:

Sigma 20-30mm
The second photo was taken with the Cokin “P” Sunset1 Filter

Saturday night a friend who’s a photographer and I both decided to go on a photowalk in downtown Cleveland. This turned out to be another good opportunity to photograph for HDR and get some really interestring shots. Lately I’ve been getting very hooked on HDR. I’m just loving the affects obtained in both the sky and foreground. This would be very hard to achieve without HDR. Here’s a few shots taken from the photowalk.
Photos were all taken with the Sony a300 & 15-30 Sigma Lens.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) with the Sony a300 camera and Sigma 15-30mm wide angle lens. HDR is used to increase the dynamic range of photographs. The HDR shots in this article was processed using photomatix 3.2 and adobe photoshop CS4. (Exposure was +2 EV -0- -2 EV) This turned out to be a great evening shooting in downtown Cleveland about 8PM in evening,. The lighting and the weather was great. The buildings were lit up and the sky had a real nice glow in the dark. What else can a photographer ask for during an evening shoot. It’s very interesting how HDR can make shooting in difficult situations work out very well. I was able to get great details in the sky and foreground with these photos. HDR is still new, but I think people are now accepting HDR as another way to express the art of photography.
